Morning flight to Hanoi. On arrival, pick up and transfer to a hotel (45km). Walking along tree-lined streets of Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital city, you shall find many century-old building and landmarks. Afternoon sightseeing tour features both cultural and historical highlights, comprising the Temple of Literature, Fine Art Museum, the Old Quarters and a downtown pedicab ride (1 hour). The sightseeing day ends with a water puppet show, a theatrical genre reflecting thousands years of agricultural civilization. O/N in Hanoi.
We leave Hanoi to Halong Bay in 4-hour-drive. Sailing through World Heritage listed Halong Bay, you shall spend unique nightstay on its sparkling waters under spectacular scatter of island on the horizon. It shall be stupendous the beautiful scenery at dawn, when you shall enjoy swimming in the bay’s emerald waters. [Overnight onboard.]
Relax on boat cruise. Enjoy lunch on board. In the afternoon, drive back Hanoi, stopping en route at the Dong Trieu Ceramics Factory. O/N in Hanoi.
Early in the morning, transfer to Noi Bai Airport for a short flight to Hue, widely known for its magnificent monuments built under the Nguyen Dynasty (1802 – 1945), pictureques scenery, nice people and good foods. O/N in Hue.
A morning sightseeing tour highlights the Imperial Citadel, built in 1804 on a site chosen with the principles of geomancy; and the Dong Ba Market, famous for its best conical hats in Vietnam. Lunch at local restaurant. Visit the tombs of King Khai Dinh (ruled 1916 – 1925) and King Minh Mang (ruled 1820 –1840) which show the contrast between Oriental and Occidental architectures. Then we shall take a boat ride on the Perfume River to Hon Chen Temple and Thien Mu Pagoda, viewing rural landscape at sunset. In the evening, a typical royal court dinner with a presentation of ancient dancing and music is arranged (minimum group size: 10). O/N in Hue.
In the morning, we shall transfer to Danang (110km) with a stop-over on the Hai Van Pass overlooking the scenic Lang Co lagoon. Paying a visit to the Cham Sculpture Museum, we shall observe the finest collection of Cham sandstone sculptures in the world. Transfering to Hoi An (35km), a leisure walk around a century-old town with ancient houses, temples, markets and handicraft workshops shall mark a memorable night. Overnight in Hoi An.
Enjoy a day trip to explore two World Heritage sites recognized by UNESCO in 1999. First, travel over rural roads to My Son (70km), exploring architectural treasures and sculptures of Cham culture dating from the 7th to the 13th century can be explored. PM : Free at leisure. O/N in Hoi An.
Spend last minutes for downtown shopping (stone-carvings, silk, paintings, etc.) or free & easy around town before check-out. Transfer to the airport for departure.
