Depart from Saigon and drive to Vinh Long (~2 hours / 130 km). Upon arrival, take a walk to visit the Vinh Long market before boarding a private boat for a cruise along the typical maze of waterways and canals of the Mekong Delta. Stop by Tien Chau pagoda and visit local brick and pottery workshops. Have lunch at a local restaurant and taste the “elephant ear fish”, a popular regional dish. Continue to explore the canals to reach the biggest nursery garden at An Binh island. Towards the end of the day, meet and greet your homestay family. Discover the real local life during a short cylcing or walking tour and enjoy free time for personal discovery until you join the family for the preparation of the dinner. Have breakfast at homestay. Check-out & boarding on boat to go across one of the longest rivers in the world, Mekong River. Come to visit Cai Be floating market.

Then, the rowboat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals to enjoy the peaceful time. We then visit Tân Phong island for biking on village paths to see the local daily life: orchard, school, church, pagoda, traditional houses and maybe the ancestral ways to pick up fruits in Mekong Delta... On the way, we can make some stops to see how they make rice-net for spring-rolls, sewing coconut-leaves for cottage roof and specially see how they wave the dried water-hyacinth to make many products: baskets, bags, hats, wallets, shoes... The cruise will end at Cai Be pier in the town then get picked-up and transfer back to Ho Chi Minh city, lunch served en-route
