OverviewĀ

Cambodia is a land of profound contrasts, where ancient spirituality meets a resilient, modern soul. On this curated 6 day Cambodia tour, we invite you to look beyond the postcards and truly connect with the Kingdom.

Your journey begins in Phnom Penh, a city that pulses with energy. Here, you will wander through the gilded Royal Palace and reflect on the country’s turbulent past, gaining a deeper appreciation for how far it has come. Then, the rhythm shifts as you travel north to Siem Reap.

This isn’t just about checking sites off a list; it is about the moments in between. Imagine watching the sunrise paint the towers of Angkor Wat in gold, or standing small beneath the giant roots of Ta Prohm. From the bustling Mekong riverbanks to the silent stone temples, this 6 day Cambodia tour captures the very essence of why travelers fall in love with Cambodia.

No two travelers are the same. That’s why this itinerary is fully customizable — our local specialists can adjust the pace, swap activities, or upgrade stays to shape your ideal journey.Ā Ā

Why you will love this tripĀ

  • Witness the Sunrise at Angkor: There is nothing quite like standing before the world’s largest religious monument at dawn. You will watch the sky turn from violet to gold as the silhouette of Angkor Wat reflects perfectly in the lotus pond.
  • Feel the Power of Nature: Step into the cinematic world of Ta Prohm, where massive silk-cotton tree roots coil around ancient stones. It is a hauntingly beautiful reminder of nature’s power to reclaim civilization.
  • Connect with History: Beyond the temples, you will delve into the poignant history of Phnom Penh. A visit to the Tuol Sleng Museum and Killing Fields is emotional, yet it offers a crucial insight into the incredible resilience and spirit of the modern Cambodian people.
  • The Perfect Introduction: This itinerary is crafted for travelers who want to see the highlights without rushing. It captures the complete cultural spectrum of the country in a perfectly paced 6 day Cambodia tour.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Phnom Penh | Royal Splendor of the Capital (L)

Upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, your guide and driver will welcome you with warm Cambodian hospitality and transfer you to your hotel for check-in.

After lunch at a local restaurant, begin your discovery of the capital. Visit the Independence Monument, National Museum, and the Royal Palace, home to Cambodia’s royal family. Within its grounds lies the stunning Silver Pagoda, named for its floor of over 5,000 silver tiles. End the day at Wat Phnom, a hilltop temple offering city views and a glimpse into local legends.

Day 2 – Phnom Penh city tour | The Story of Resilience (B, L)

After breakfast, travel 15 km outside the city to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, where over 17,000 victims lost their lives during the Khmer Rouge regime. This solemn site offers space for reflection and remembrance.

Return to Phnom Penh for lunch, then continue to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21) — once a high school turned prison during the 1970s. Hear stories of survival and courage from one of the few living survivors.

Later, wander through the bustling Russian Market (Psar Toul Tom Pong), where colorful stalls overflow with crafts, fabrics, and curiosities. As the day fades, unwind on a sunset cruise along the Mekong River, with a glass of wine in hand and Phnom Penh’s skyline glowing behind you.

Day 3 – Phnom Penh to Siem Reap | Journey Through the Heart of Cambodia (B, L)

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before setting off on your overland journey to Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor. The scenic drive reveals snapshots of rural life — rice paddies, palm trees, and roadside markets.

En route, stop in Skoun, fondly nicknamed ā€œSpiderville,ā€ where locals sell the famous fried tarantula snack — a quirky taste of Cambodian tradition. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant before continuing north to Siem Reap.

Arrive in the late afternoon and check into your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 4 – Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom & Ta Prohm | Icons of the Khmer Empire (B, L)

Rise early for a sunrise over Angkor Wat, when the temple’s silhouette is mirrored perfectly in the lotus ponds. After returning to your hotel for breakfast, begin exploring the wonders of the Angkor Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Enter the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom, once the capital of the Khmer Empire. Pass through the South Gate, then marvel at the enigmatic faces of Bayon Temple, with 216 smiling stone towers gazing serenely in every direction. Continue to the Baphuon, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King, each adorned with intricate carvings.

After lunch, explore Ta Prohm, where fig trees and silk-cotton roots embrace temple walls in a spectacular dance between nature and architecture — famously featured in Tomb Raider.

In the afternoon, return to Angkor Wat for a deeper visit. Walk its galleries of epic bas-reliefs, climb the central tower for sweeping views, and admire its perfect symmetry glowing in the afternoon light.

Begin with Preah Khan, a sprawling temple of crumbling corridors once dedicated to King Jayavarman VII’s father. Continue to Neak Poan, a serene water temple built on an artificial island, and Ta Som, where a giant tree dramatically engulfs the eastern gate.

Visit the Cambodian Landmine Museum, founded by Aki Ra, whose demining efforts have saved countless lives. Then, travel to Banteay Srei, often called the ā€œJewel of Khmer Art,ā€ renowned for its delicate pink sandstone carvings dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.

On your return, stop by Pradark Village to meet local artisans and see how palm sugar and traditional crafts are made. End the day at Pre Rup Temple, a former royal cremation site, where you can watch the sunset paint the landscape gold.
