Welcome to Luang Prabang ā the ancient capital of the Lane Xang Kingdom and a UNESCO World Heritage treasure. Upon arrival, your guide and driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing or wandering through quiet lanes filled with golden temples and French-colonial architecture.

After breakfast, begin your discovery of Luang Prabangās royal and spiritual heritage at the Royal Palace Museum, built in 1904 during the French colonial era for King Sisavang Vong and his family.
Next, journey south for about an hour to one of Luang Prabangās most picturesque natural sites ā Kuang Si Waterfall. A gentle walk through shaded forest leads you to turquoise cascades tumbling into tiered pools ā perfect for a refreshing swim or simply relaxing amid nature. Youāll also visit the nearby Bear Rescue Center, a sanctuary for endangered Asiatic black bears.
On your way back to town, stop at Ban Thapene, a tranquil Khmu ethnic village known for its beautiful natural pools at the foot of the falls.
Back in Luang Prabang, continue your exploration at Wat Sene and the splendid Wat Xieng Thong, one of the most exquisite examples of traditional Lao temple architecture. Its golden faƧade and intricate āTree of Lifeā mosaic make it a true masterpiece.

Depart after breakfast for Ban Lae Sivilay, a small LaoāHmong village nestled along the banks of the Nam Xuang River ā a gentle tributary of the Mekong. About 30 kilometers from Luang Prabang, this charming rural community offers a glimpse of traditional Laotian life surrounded by lush greenery and quiet simplicity.
Take a walk through the village orchards, where the air is filled with the scent of ripe fruit ā bananas, oranges, lemons, grapefruits, rambutans, sapodillas, and pineapples ā all grown for the markets of Luang Prabang. Meet local families tending their gardens and learn about their seasonal harvests.
Later, step aboard a canoe for a calm ride along the Nam Xuang River. Glide past bamboo groves and riverside homes, watching villagers fish, wash clothes, or paddle to nearby fields ā a serene window into everyday rural life.
By late afternoon, continue your journey north to Nong Khiaw, a tranquil riverside town framed by dramatic karst mountains and dense jungle. The final stretch of the drive reveals some of northern Laosā most breathtaking scenery ā misty peaks and emerald waters reflecting the setting sun.

After breakfast, step aboard a local boat and begin a scenic cruise upstream to Muang Ngoi, a riverside village that can only be reached by water.
Along the way, stop at several ethnic villages to experience life along the riverbanks ā each with its own traditions and crafts passed down through generations. Youāll continue past Muang Ngoi to visit Ban Sop Jam, a peaceful village renowned for its traditional Lao silk and cotton weaving. Watch the rhythmic movement of the looms and admire the artistry of handmade textiles ā vibrant scarves and fabrics that reflect the colors of northern Laos.
After exploring the village, return downstream to Muang Ngoi, where you can pause for a cup of Lao coffee overlooking the river before setting off on a gentle trek through the countryside. The path winds past rice paddies, limestone cliffs, and lush green valleys ā the kind of scenery that feels timeless. Along the way, visit a historic cave once used as a bomb shelter by locals during the Second Indochina War, offering a quiet reminder of the regionās resilience.

After breakfast, bid farewell to Nong Khiaw and begin your scenic journey back toward Luang Prabang.
En route, cross the Mekong to the sacred Pak Ou Caves (Tham Ting and Tham Poum), where thousands of Buddha statues fill the grottoes.
On the return journey, stop at Ban Xang Hai Village, where locals have been distilling Lao rice wine for generations. Youāll learn how sticky rice is fermented and turned into a traditional spirit, sometimes infused with herbs or fruit.for rice wine) and Ban Xang Khong, known for silk weaving and handmade Saa paper,crafted from mulberry bark.
