Overview

This Ho Chi Minh City Half-day Small Group Tour is available in both morning and afternoon. It covers the essential historical and cultural landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City (primarily within District 1 and District 3). The itinerary provides a factual, straightforward look into Vietnam’s war history, French colonial architecture, and local spiritual practices. You will visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, the Reunification Palace, the War Remnants Museum, and the Jade Emperor Pagoda, concluding with a walk through a local market to observe daily commercial life.

Itinerary

Ready at the Hotel Lobby: 7:30 (Morning) / 13:30 (Afternoon)
Pick-up at Hotel: 7:30~8:00 (Morning) / 13:30-14:00 (Afternoon)
Drop-off at Hotel: About 12:30 (Morning) / About 18:00 (Afternoon)

  • Notre Dame Cathedral & Old Post Office: Visit these two landmarks representing the highlights of old Saigon’s French colonial architecture. You will view the distinct red-brick facade of the cathedral and step inside the functioning Post Office to observe its historic painted maps, vaulted ceiling, and vintage telephone booths.

  • Reunification Palace (Independence Palace): Walk to this nearby landmark, a direct witness to the historic events of old Saigon and famous for its 1960s architectural characteristics. Your guide will take you through the preserved meeting rooms, the presidential living quarters, and the underground communication basement.

  • War Remnants Museum: Discover this heavily visited museum that gathers a comprehensive collection of machinery, weapons, photographs, and documentation of the Vietnam Wars. The site includes outdoor exhibitions of military vehicles, such as tanks and helicopters, alongside multiple indoor galleries detailing the historical impacts of the conflicts.

  • Jade Emperor Pagoda: Stop by this spectacularly colorful temple, dedicated to the King of Heaven and filled with exquisite statues. Take time to observe local worshippers lighting incense, examine the detailed wood carvings, and see the active tortoise pond located in the front courtyard.

  • Local Market & Return: The tour ends with a visit to a local market to explore regional products. Walk through the narrow aisles of fresh produce, dry goods, souvenir shops and everyday household items to see how residents shop for their daily meals. Afterward, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
