Overview

This full-day small group tour takes you from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau, a coastal port city located on a peninsula in the Ba Ria – Vung Tau province. Formerly known as Cap Saint Jacques during the French colonial period, the itinerary covers the city’s main historical landmarks, including the White Villa, the Vung Tau Lighthouse, and the Giant Jesus statue. The trip also includes a visit to the Worldwide Arms Museum, a local seafood lunch, and free time on the beach before returning to the city.

Itinerary

  • Pick-up: 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM (Please be ready at your hotel lobby by 7:30 AM)

  • Drop-off: ~17:00 PM

Transfer to Vung Tau: In the morning, transfer from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau. The journey covers 125 km and takes approximately 2 hours via the highway.

Vung Tau Lighthouse: On arrival, a short drive will bring you to the Lighthouse. Positioned on top of Small Mountain (Nui Nho), it provides a spectacular 360-degree view of the entire peninsula and the surrounding ocean.

Giant Jesus Statue: Nearby, visit the Giant Jesus, a 30-meter-high statue built in 1974. This architectural landmark faces the Pacific Ocean and is one of the largest Christian statues in the region.

White Villa (Bach Dinh): Visit this historical site built in 1909. Set on a lushly forested hillside overlooking the sea, it was originally built as a retreat for French governor Paul Doumer and later became a summer palace for Vietnamese royalty. You will see its preserved French colonial architecture and historical artifacts.

Worldwide Arms Museum: The next destination is the Worldwide Arms Museum (Robert Taylor Worldwide Arms Museum). This site displays over 2,000 items ranging from guns and swords to army uniforms dating back to between the 17th and 20th centuries, collected from various countries around the world.

Lunch & Beach Relaxation: Have lunch featuring fresh seafood at a local restaurant. Afterward, take time to relax and enjoy the beach, where you can walk along the sandy shores or rest by the water, before driving back to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon.
